| General Background Information on Jim Ripley (Resume Below)
Jim Ripley has lived in the Okanagan Valley region of British Columbia since 1969. The southern interior of BC which encompasses the valley has experienced large and continual growth to the point that economic development of the region will be limited by water and other natural resources within the next five years. Many of Jim's business activities focus on solutions for sustainable development. He graduated from UBC in 1982 and is a PB5 professional educator; qualified to teach science (Physics, Chemistry, Math, and Biology) worldwide. Recently he finished a three year term on the Environmental Advisory Board (EAC) of the Central Okanagan which investigates potential ecological impacts of development in that region. In 2006 the EAC received the Mayor's Environmental Expo award for work on the local environment. He is a member of the Okanagan Chapter of the Cascadia Green Building Council and BC Sustainable Energy Association and was an executive board member for both. He has operated his own businesses since 1984 which involves water and waste water systems and has created a complete product line of components for septic systems under the brand name TURTLE TANKS and produces a synthetic aggregate under the trade name POLY ROCK. He has negotiated licensing agreements to manufacture these products under trade secret agreements in Canada, United States, and Mexico. In 2000 Jim Ripley was hired to teach the marketing and sales program at Sprott Shaw business college and gained tremendous knowledge in corporate communications. Since then he has acted as a strategic marketing planner for a variety of businesses that have an environmental foundation and are "Home Improvement" related. The support website for this group is From The Ground Up which produces a Virtual Home Show supported by broadband video streaming technology. Portable signs seem to be effective and a division of his marketing services of From The Ground Up can be seen under SIMPLE SIGNMAN. He has also developed business support under a "Social Enterprise" infrastructure for small home improvement businesses with From the Roof Down. As part of his marketing consulting services he provides advertising services with his associated website Info to Grow , Jim also manufactures and markets a new concrete mixing unit that is promoted under the brandname ENVIROMIX and is a key component of his tank manufacturing business. The EnviroMix System makes only as much concrete as needed and therefore there is zero waste. Jim is part owner of EDGE LOGISTICS a small enterprise that provides services for general freight. This company operates NEEDALOAD.NET which helps truckers to find a backhaul to be more efficient. To help with office administration, Jim utilizes Virtual Assistants in various parts of North America. Jim has been a professional musician since 1991 and has managed numerous 3, 4, and 5 piece bands; he currently provides entertainment as "Jim Ripley & Friends" and invites any of his musical friends to get on stage when he is playing at any of the venues in the Okanagan. Jim and his wife are currently planning to build a state of the art DOME HOME in the rural area of Kelowna.
